It features cement stadium seating made for <a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/shakeout-runs-take-over-nyc-marathon-as-brands-eye-long-term-roi\/\">pre- and post-run gatherings<\/a> and a refrigerator stocked with complimentary hydration drinks for Bandit members, who unlock it by scanning their digital membership card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve experienced an incredible energy in Chicago around our pop-ups and the Chicago marathon, and wanted to find a way to more consistently and holistically serve the city&#8217;s amazing running community,&#8221; a Bandit spokesperson told Athletech News. &#8220;With stores now in NYC, LA and Chicago, we&#8217;re excited to have permanent, physical Bandit locations in cities that are such driving forces within global running culture.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The store\u2019s design also mimics the curvature of the brand\u2019s signature \u201cCurrent\u201d logo, complete with a framed photograph of Bobbi Gibb, who raced the 1966 Boston Marathon without a bib before women were allowed to run the marathon (the \u201coriginal bandit\u201d \u2014 the inspiration behind the brand\u2019s name).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-medium_large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Bandit-Chicago-Flagship-18-1120x1493.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-147584\" style=\"width:339px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">credit: Bandit Running<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Bandit\u2019s new store also features a caf\u00e9 run by local Chicago brand Soloway Coffee, with a full menu of drinks and pastries and a checkout bar crafted from stainless steel, glass and marble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our stores are built first and foremost from and for the way runners embrace running culture in cities,&#8221; the spokesperson said. &#8220;Elevated, inviting, and design-forward, they&#8217;re intended to create a genuine point of connection between the brand and the city, and among runners themselves.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, customers will see a series of convex traffic mirrors manufactured in Brooklyn, suspended from the ceiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-medium_large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Bandit-Chicago-Flagship-22-1120x1400.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-147589\" style=\"width:342px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">credit: Bandit Running<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe mirrors reference street infrastructure \u2014 ideas of safety, awareness, and motion,\u201d said Bandit\u2019s lead designer, Ale Iaccarino. \u201cAs people move through the space, the reflections multiply product, people and energy, creating depth and a sense of constant movement at the center of the store.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brand stated it wanted to honor Chicago\u2019s \u201crich architectural legacy through a space that is both intentional and inviting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-medium_large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Bandit_Chicago_Flagship_EMAIL_02-1120x747.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-147583\" style=\"width:702px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">credit: Bandit Running<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the store\u2019s opening, Bandit will also unveil an exclusive Chicago Capsule collection, featuring six core items: a hoodie, two cotton tees, a custom Chicago Lite Run sock and two performance run hats. Throughout the weekend, the brand will host community events including a block party and a community run\/breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the brand hasn&#8217;t revealed plans for future store locations, Bandit is looking to expand it&#8217;s engagement with other running communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re constantly evaluating how and where physical spaces can deepen a runner\u2019s connection to the sport,&#8221; the spokesperson told ATN. &#8220;For us, stores aren\u2019t about footprint for footprint\u2019s sake. They\u2019re about showing up in ways that feel additive to a city\u2019s running culture.
